Veggie garden gets a winter make over!!
With winter cold wrapping itself across the valley we decided it was time tolook after the garden for the winter. Because our oil has a lot of clay in it we decided to sprinkle gypsum on the garden beds as we have been told that this will help enrich the clay. Then we added a top layer of mulch ( made from pea straw) to keep the remaining plants warm in the winter. We hope this will be good for encouraging more worms into our soil as well. The children were really enthusiastic in helping out and are looking forward to planting garlic on the shortest . Learning about day of the year.sustainable living is hugely important for our children. For many of them it is the first time they have been actively involved in horticulture, an avenue many will pursue in the future. It is a fantastic opportunity to do some meaningful work with our Room 2 buddies.
Roots of Empathy, Addison visit
Today we had Hilary and Addison visit again. We saw lots of changes in Addison. She is now able to sit up independently. We noticed that she is using all her senses to find out about us. She is starting to communicate by "talking". She makes noises to get our attention. When we copied the noises she made she would look towards us.
